  1. Mix all of the ingredients listed in the Marinade into a paste. Coat all of the tofu with the marinade. Keep chilled overnight. Tip: (1) Freeze and thaw tofu to improve texture, I bought specifically a firm tofu so I didn't have to do this. Do not use silk tofu (2) You may poke through the tofu to let the marinade seep in, skip this if the tofu you have isn't firm enough.
  2. The following day, bring the tofu to room temperature, at least 30mins on the counter, before grilling. You skip this step and your tofu will stick on the grill no matter how you oil it.
  3. Prepare your grill. I use a cast iron grill. Oil the grills and let it slowly heat up in medium fire. Once you see a little smoke indicating its very hot, start putting the tofu. You can bring the fire to low if you are not confident to flip them fast enough. I personally like the char taste and look the grill makes.
  4. Flip the tofu 2 minutes each side, about 4x. While you're at it, might as well change directions each flip to create the "X" marks. 😂 We fancy.
  5. Serve and Enjoy!
